On the Edge of Daylight A Novel of the Titanic Giselle Beaumont Books
A deliciously well-written book that blends history and fiction together in a delicate balance. You can easily believe that the love story could have happened on the Titanic during its doomed crossing. This might be a very long book at almost 400 pages, but it is definitely not something you think about once you start reading! I've already read it over 4 times!I look forward to reading any further books by Ms Beaumont.

On the Edge of Daylight A Novel of the Titanic Giselle Beaumont Books Reviews
Slow burn romance is boring, especially after 470 pages. Male character on cover is a direct tracing from the movie Titanic. Two gratuitous sex scenes that would appeal to some but don't fit the overall theme of the book.
I loved the premise of this book...young Bailey as the first Female Officer on the Titanic. She is welcomed with hostility especially from First Officer Murdoch. Her determination to succeed in an all Male profession was the premise of the story in the beginning. However, it morphed into foul language and sex,as if this would help enhance the story. The actual sinking of Titanic follows closely to some of the actual events, although several parts seemed to be copied directly from the movie version...including Bailey and Murdoch meeting in the afterlife.
While I enjoyed this book, I couldn't help but read certain parts of the book - especially the sinking -and thinking how much it closely resembled the sinking in the 1997 film.
I began this novel with great anticipation at the unique storyline involving a female officer, Esther Bailey, and a relationship with a true Titanic officer, Will Murdoch.
On the Edge of Daylight is a good read, however the author's use of the exact dialogue and scenes from the movie, Titanic, was distracting. She could have used dialogue written from her imagination rather than that from the movie.
I did read the entire book. It was good, but distracting as I previously mentioned.
It was will written. Mixing historical figures with fictional ones.
Absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. Titanic has always fascinated me and being able to read about and follow the characters thru that fateful night just made it more real.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and finished it in two days! The fact that actual people on the Titanic were used made the book seem more real. Loved it!!
